Humanitarian work at a time of environmental and climate crisis:
Planetary Health perspectives and field implications

Date

Wednesday, November 18th 11:00 - 12:00 (Swiss time)

Presentation

There is significant overlap between populations served by humanitarian actors and those most vulnerable to downstream health effects of climate change. Due to the observed impacts and the urgent time frame for climate adaptation and mitigation, humanitarian practitioners’ expertise gained on the front-lines of humanitarian crisis response can add valuable, practical skills to the Planetary Health Community’s toolkit.

This session will examine the experience of practitioners, researchers, policy makers, etc. versed in working in humanitarian contexts and thinking in terms of planetary health.
